A great hat can change her life forever... maybe

after our Amish Buggy tour- Lilly was impressed. In the car she announced that when she grows up- she is going to buy land in Lancaster and become Amish.

Which kind of surprised us.

Sure, she was gung ho- in the beginning:



She started fading fast



And the last half hour or so we thought she might actually fall asleep

But really, I think the deciding factor in her aspirations to become Amish was the hat. That girl has a bit of a hat obsession.


What more could a 7 year old girl ask for. A life of simple living and great hats.

A TV moment in Lancaster County

So you know that episode of Seinfield where Kramer feeds the Central Park Horses beef-a-roni and then during the buggy ride, the inevitable happens- leaving those directly behind the horses in the line of fire

Yup. This is the view from our seats in the buggy




And as we are clip clopping down the road, it's quiet and the breeze is flowing through.

And then it happens. To both horses at the same time



The poor driver had to endure not only the kids snickering, but Jim and I and our hushed giggles as we could not help ourselves. We had joked in the car on the way to the Abe's that we hoped the horses weren't fed Beefaroni. We couldn't help it but crack up.

We may be 32 & 34, but when it comes to horse farts, we just can not help ourselves.

Day Tripping...

This day trip we visited Lancaster County.







The kids- all history buffs- loved this.

I'm not the bumper sticker type

In fact, I generally shy away from putting any sticker on the car at all. I conceded to getting a exeter music association cling, but with our tinted windows you can't see it and it generally defeats the purpose of having it there.

I don't mind so much. In fact I was uber proud to stick that bad boy on there.

Yes, I am that mom -

There are millions of us out there, driving our silver minivans with an honor student sticker stuck on the back.

I wouldn't have it any other way
