Weekend pictures

Zach loved his present... We couldn't resist getting him one after he spent almost all weekend on Abby's when he was here. :)

Elijah telling Gi-Gi all about Gum-Gum (the statue in the movie Night at the Museum)

Lilly's Injury... Tripped over her own two feet and hit her elbow on the ceramic tile...

I call this "attitude in action" lol She was giving attitude and I caught it on film. :)

Hannah is just starting to smile... what a cutie pie!

Caleb, peeking under his balloon

A fun new site...

It is cute, if I do say so myself. :)

Postcards from Neville

We're going to have a lot of fun with this on vacation. :)

Sam, the photographer man

It was hot today... very hot.

So our walk through Valley Forge didn't last long and we went and hung out in the shade.

I let Sam take some pictures with the little cannon....

Of course we got some goofy shots like this one:

But then he took a couple that were really good like This one:

Rock on Sammers!

Oh, and Indiana and Gimli got along just fine :) Yea!!

Gimli's going to make a new friend!

Well, that's the plan anyway.

Tomorrow Gimli and Indiana have a date. If they hit it off we He'll be staying at Aunt Wendi's and Uncle Jim's house while we are on vacation.

Keeping our fingers crossed on that one!

Becoming Jane...

Is anyone else as excited about the new movie Becoming Jane as I am?

Anne Hathaway, Maggie Smith... two of my favorite female actresses in yet another Jane Austin Book come to the big screen. This one might be theater worthy.

I hope this movie is as good as the last ones have been! I loved this book!

Otherwise, not much is going on. I'm trying to finish a ton of different projects I have started and have not been finished. I am refusing to let myself go on vacation until my scrap area is clean and the bedroom and Upstairs closets are completely reorganized. It's a huge task, hopefully I'll make it out alive!

I've Been Tagged!!

Thanks for the TAG Bet, I had fun. :)

7 Random things about myself...

1. I LOVE Jelly Bellys. No other jelly bean comes close to how much fun Jelly belly's are! Really, creating reciepes with different flavored jelly beans is just so much fun! Beware of the bananna flavored one though it makes me gag...

2. Gone with the Wind is my ultime favorite Fiction book, but that being said, I refuse to watch the movie. They butchered everthing I loved about the book.

3. I like to use the removable shower head as a micro phone and belt out show tunes in the shower. Not a pretty scene!

4. My dream job would be a librarian. I love libraries and everthing about them... even the smell...

5. Laundry is a love hate thing for me... I hate the process, but I love the feeling you get when the hampers are empty and everything it put away! :) Of course this happy feeling lasts for all ove 2 minutes in our house and we start the process all over again.

6. I don't know how we ever lived without the DVR. This little box has completely changed how we watch tv. It tapes my shows automatically and whenever I have time, I watch my favorite primetime shows. No commercials- No channel surfing... It's awesome...

7. Last but not least, I'm a total dork. Abby talked me into going to a midnight Harry Potter Party and I'm Actually looking forward to going- despite the fact that it's going to be crowded and a madhouse...

There, now that you read that consider yourself tagged! I wanna see everyone elses take on this :)

Am I nuts or what???

Today was interesting. First off, Elijah woke up and puked twice... Not fun, but thank God for Dramamine... it's a must have on hand at all times medicine. After his nap he woke up hungry and ready to go.

So, since the whole point of having the boys this weekend was to give his parents a break while they moved, Jim left to help with that and I was home with the kids all day.

5 kids...BY MYSELF... Yup, I would call that nuts

And if that wasn't insane enough I got it in my head that I should take them to the lake with the dog.

That's right. 5 kids, 1 dog, a bunch of ducks & the camera of course. :)

Elijah forgot to go potty before we left. You can see where this is going right? Yup, Half way around the lake I hear "I have to go potty Aunt Jen, REALLLY BAD!" Not a problem, usually there is a port-a-potty once you get around the bend. But nope! Not today! They removed it- probably b/c little league season is over. So, He answered natures call anyway... He had no problem watering a tree that we had just watched the dog water. In fact, it was the high light of his day!

We all survived and apart from a few bumps and bruises. :)

And now it's time for "Aunt Jen" to hit the hay.... I'm totally worn out. :)

I *heart* books...

And so when I read on Stephs blog about Library Thing I was so happy! I have been looking for something like this for a while now.

I set up my profile and I put in the three books that I have recently read. Now that I'm not in school, I have been reading for fun again and it's great to have a list. You don't know how many times I come home from the library with a book that sounds great, but when I start reading it I realize I have already read it before.

You can read review on books, there is a book suggester, and if you will take notice on the sidebar of my blog I have a list of what I'm reading. :)

Here's my profile:

Draining their energy...

Our new park opened up last week, so we made our way down for the kids to play today.

It's still not quite done yet. But that's ok, they kids had fun jumping in from the mounds.

This boy has no fear... Yes, he is jumping down the slide... he also goes down head first...

Isn't he cute... I had to bribe him with a popcicle to get him to take a picture.

Such a lovely picture up her nose...

The bean :)

"my heart will go on"- The titanic pose...

Trying to climb on the outside of the gym... He's another fearless one..

The boys are all snuggled up in their sleeping bags sound asleep. I had to give them baths before I let them under the covers... I'm surprised their is any mulch left at the park, as it all ended up in the bath tub.

I was good... I promise

QVC had scrapbooking on tonight. I am determined to use up what I have more before I buy anything else and I did well. Tools are a different story... Tools help you use your stash. I did see a MM ribbon notcher that I would love to have, BUT, I stayed away from the phone. Our vacation is much more important than scrapping tools right now. :)

Speaking of vacation, it's less than a month away! I can't wait.

I've been busy with so much going on right now. Job hunting is a full time job in and of itself. I've never interviewed and not got the job before, and so this is all new to me. However, I keep getting calls, so something will turn up. :)

It's going to be a crazy weekend. 2 of our nephews are camping out at our house for the weekend. That will be 5 kids to 2 of us.... Totally outnumbered. Thank goodness the township finished the new park, I think we will be spending a lot of time there. Our strategy? Wear them out before they wear us out! :)

Finally

We had every intention of seeing Bridge to Terabithia in the theaters this winter. However, I had a full plate with school work and Jim was working at the courthouse and we just never got there.

We finally got to watch the movie this weekend. As far as a book being turned into movie goes, this was pretty spot on. The powers that be did not butcher the book at all. It was neat seeing the imaginations you had pictured in your mind come to life.

It's definitely a crier and you'll want tissues out when you watch it- Would recommend both the book AND the movie.

Pickled Buttons anyone???

Nope, they are not pickled :) They are my latest find. At the festival we went into the antique barn and Abby found this jar stuffed full of antique buttons. They were quite dusty, so they are soaking in detergent to bring them back to life.

In other news, I was back at the doctors today. I have the beginnings of an infection around the surgical site which was the cause of quite a bit of pain the past few days. Typical for me, nothing is ever cut and dry. :)

Folk Festival Pictures

If you sew a block on the visitors quilt you can sign it and come back next year and they will have it displayed. Both Abby and Lilly did one. :)

Q is for...

Quilts of course!!

One of my favorite book series revolved around quilts and how they played an important part in our History the Elm Creek Quilt novels take you back in time to the depression, the titanic sinking, & even all the way back to the underground railroad. Our area library is sponsoring a luncheon event with the author Jennifer Chiaverini (email me if you want info on this) and I am about to send the check in for Wendi and I to go. I'm so excited. She has a book coming out 2 weeks before hand that I can't wait to get my hands on. My favorite book so far is the one pictured up top: The Sugar Camp Quilt- the story of a quilt map for the underground railroad.

In the mean time, we went to a local folk Festival and we went into their quilt building. The pictures speak for themselves.

This one is my favorite. The maker is auctioning it off to support special needs kids! I have a feeling it will not disappoint.

I am going to steal the star idea from this one in one of my scrapbook layouts. :)

I LOVED the sock monkey one!! How cute

This one is being raffled off. It's only half the quilt! It's huge!

These two were Jim's favorites. The one to the left looks like it could be a rug.
