I'm begining to think the Amish have the right idea...

When it rains it pours. *Sigh*

Less than 24 hours we blew a tire, need some part of the brakes replaced and to top it all of, the truck started making funky noises and when Jim went to fuel up, it barely made it home.

This is just after I paid the garage for the inspections and a transmission flush.

I hate cars.

Murphey's law was made for days like today.

But, there is some proof that when things go wrong all day long you can still have fun.

Enjoy!

"I love it... too bad it doesn't fit yet."- Lilly's quote of the day

It was an interesting Sat.

My sister gifted me three huge bags of clothes for C & L. I attempted to shove them in the "out-of-season/don't-fit-yet" closet.

However, as I open the closet, it was obvious that I was not going to fit another sock in that closet.

I know what this means, and I'm not happy. It is the one chore that i HATE doing with a passion...sorting through clothes. It's a love/hate thing though. I hate doing it, but I love the organized feeling you get when it's all done. But getting there... Ugh. It is mundane and pure torture. (ok, I'm probably exadurating here, but you get the point)

I have the sorting method down to a science, which helps.

And today, this is my work. 9 trash bags. Yes, 9 trash bags that will be going to goodwill tommorow. Most are from Caleb and Lilly. Those two have went through major growth spurts over the past year.

And trust me, they LOVE when I go through clothes. Lilly especially. All I can say is thank God it's done till fall. :)

Did you know...

That this is the 100th post in my blog?

Well, if you didn't, you do now and in honor of that I've decided to share some links of things I think are cool. Now don't you feel special???? You should :)

First of are my GurkeesI'm a barefoot kind of girl, and these sandles are the closest you can get to being barefoot with shoes on. (mine are in black) They are 100% rope. They can be worn in the ocean, and when they get dirty, toss em in the washer and dryer. They are awesome. This will be my third summer with them, and they are still as comfy as the day I got them. :) There are other styles for men and women and I'm thinking of getting a pair of their pink thongs. :)

Next, is my favorite leader of the pack. Cesar Millian- the dog whisperer. Now that we are dog owners to a dog who needs some mile obedience training, we need some help from the expert. :) The kids are watching along with us, and they are learning right along with us. He has an awsome blog that goes along with his shows, so If you don't get the National Geographic channel, do not fret, you can still gleen his doggie advice from the website. :)

And last but not least, is a new website that was emailed to me this morning by my brother. I checked it out and I must say his new work is totally awesome. He has a new gallery opening next month in Denver, and if you are like me and can't hop on the first flight to Denver to see it, you can check out his new website http://jeremywineberg.net/ Check it out and you will be able to see where the creative genes in the family ended up. Awesome work big Bro. :)

So that is it for now.

weekend pictures

*for those on email, you will have view the site to see the slide show. :)

Gimli made a new friend....

Kacey and Gimli got along Spendidly.

Don't they look so cute in their tee-shirts? Gimli's says "I'm probably not listening to you" and Kacey's was "rock star"

Awesome new thing...

A Sonic opened up near us. So, since the weather was beautiful today we decided to take the kids for their first drive-in experience.

We also brought Gimli. *We ask for it don't we???*

One Spilled soda, a missing kids meal, and a bazillion napkins later, we all survived. And, I may say, their onion rings are by far THE BEST I have ever had. Yum.

It was fun way to end the day. Can the weekend really be almost over already? :(

New Music

I stumbled across The Ditty Bops this afternoon.(not to be confused with the doodle bops which are very annoying clowns on Disney morning cartoons.)

I am completely in love. They have such an old time pre 1950's sound, and it is definatly not your normal teenie booper kind of music. I love it.

The playlist is on my site. Check them out. :)

A random quote that made me smile...

Some people are like slinkies; not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs. -Glenn Beck

The Comcastic Doggie

Gimli has taken Jim's old beat up Comcast Hoodie and claimed it for his own. He sleeps on it at night. :)

A few of Gimli's Quirks:

* He loves to give kisses and he will wait till your mouth is open and start licking.

* We can not walk by the park in the mornings. The birds are out getting their breakfast and Gimli will choke himself trying to catch those birds.

*Gimli loves those rope tug toys. We got him one and within days it was un-knotted, and un braided and torn apart

*He loves PB... Finn was checking out Gimli's crate and got some PB on his back. We didn't understand why the dog would not leave Finn alone... I guess Curiosity got the cat... I washed off the smear and wouldn't you know Gimli leaves him alone. Too funny.

*Gimli does not like Fred. Anytime we open the closet that holds Fred, Gimli goes nuts and Growls and barks at him. It's really quite funny. (BTW: Fred is our Sweeper)
XoXo,

Who doesn't like a good cake smooshing...

I think the pictures say it all.

Happy Birthday Sam! :)

It's tax day!

And I still have yet to do the local taxes. I know we owe on those, so I've been putting them off. So that is my project for tonight. They have to be mailed tommorow, so if's ands or butts about it.

Today is also Sammy's birthday party. Time really does fly, it's hard to belive he could be one already. Here's a video slide show that I made for him. (for those of you on e-mail, you will probably have to visit the site to see it.)

If you find some of the music baffling, and wonder why in the world I would choose it for a baby slide show, the answer is really quite simple. I've been told that this particular song is his favorite, so, I decided to include it. :)

Anyway, It's only 730, and already I've taken the dog for a walk in pouring down rain, ate some breakfast, broke up a fight over cartoons, and put the finishing touches on my video. I think I'm going to crawl back in bed and sleep a little longer.

A Caleb-ism Defined: "expense-ted"

"Expense-ted":

To be kept home from school for breaking the rules and fighting with your partner-in-crime/friend on the playground. Otherwise knows as Suspension

Yes, Caleb, 3/4 of the way through kindergarten has gotten himself Suspended. It wasn't a mean fight, it was pretty much playing that went too far. BUT, it resulted in a full blown battle with the principal, who seems to think Caleb is a sociopath-in-training. There's no doubt in my mind that he would probably give Jim and I "worst parents of the year" award if he thought it were possible.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry that the boy didn't even know what a suspension was. He calls it "expense-ted" This is kind of amusing for an accoutant... Expensed is to write off, and we are far from writing him off. But on the other hand, he's in Kdg... It's not boding well for his future to have such issues early on. We still have 12 more years of school!

*sigh*

A Conversation...

Lilly: "Mommy, I finally found the person I'm going to marry."

Mommy:
"Oh really, who is it?"

Lilly: "Hayden."

Mommy: "Wow, does Hayden Know this?"

Lilly:
"yup, I told him this morning."

She's too funny. I wish I had a camera on her. The way she said it all so matter of factly, it was so innocent and sweet. As if telling one of her friends he was going to marry her was the way it was always done :)

Eggs gone wild...

Daddy and Abby were at the opening weekend of the Reading Phils tonight. We were all supposed to go, but it was way too cold for me, so Caleb and Lil stayed home & helped me decorate eggs for tommorow's egg hunt brunch instead. Not as fun as a game, but I think it was a good decision. Especially seeing the two popcicles that came home.

How we came up with the name Gimli...

Every where we go people ask us where we come up with Gimli's name. :) I guess it's been a Few years since LOTR came out, and so it's not as fresh in the mind.
His facial expression just looks like that of Gimli the dwarf.

He came with the name pugsley, and we had also thought about Yoda. Gimli just seemed to suit him better. :) So Gimli he is.

The Easter Beagle came a little early this year...

I'd like to introduce you to the newest (and last!) memember of our family.

Gimli (middle name has yet to be determined)

He's a Puggle. A mix of pug and beagle. :) And another rescue from the humane society. A big thank you to Ralph and Kim, Wendi and Kathy for giving us stellar references. :)

Isn't he adorable????? Come see him in person, he'll melt your heart.

Finn could care less a dog is in the house. Cat, however, is on high alert. So we're keeping Gimli downstairs for now, so she can have some peace upstairs. She'll get over it I'm sure. :)

Gotta run. It's getting late.

Practice makes perfect

Jim got some new filters and was itching to play with all the features he's learning about in all his classes.

They are not perfect, but he's learning by doing, and before long it'll all come natural. :)

Enjoy the pictures. :)

Practice makes perfect- Abby's Shoot

Practice makes perfect- Lilly's Shoot

Lilly is a natural in front of the camera. She did all the posing herself. :)

Practice makes perfect- Sam's Shoot

The First subject... Our adorable god son- Sammy
Now, Jim is just starting out and even though we had three babies, we were not prepared as much as we should have been for his mobility. :)

Luckily, Caleb brough his light saber, which kept him happy. He was just too adorable.
