Ah... can you smell the freshly sharpened pencils???? It's school time, The most wonderful time of the year. All decked out in their new sneakers and clothes, We shoved 2 kids off to elementry school and the other to her first week of Pre-K. Ah... Can you hear the quiet???
Abby was not thrilled with the teacher she was assigned to. Last year she hoped for a teacher and didn't get her, so this year she hoped for the teacher she didn't want. Fate didn't fall for that trick and she was not happy to get that letter in the mail. However, good things can happen. A few of her closer friends are in the same class and for that she is thankful. Although when asked how the teacher was she replied "Who knows... it's the first day and teachers have to be nice on the first day..." She was not thrilled at the fact I was bringing the camera to the bus stop... So, she moved away from me and pretended I was not her mom when her friends came around.
Caleb came to me this morning and told me he was nervous... Which is so out of character for him. Seeing the middle school bus go down the street he was out the door like a lightening bolt screaming for the bus to stop, b/c he thought he missed it. Abby starts running after him and by the time I get out there and tell him it's not his bus, he must have woke the whole neighborhood up. His best friend in in his class and they sat together on the bus. Once he entered the line of kids to board, he didn't give me another thought... I'd like to say he had a good day, but alas, his listening skills got him into some trouble and came home with a frown face instead of a sticker... But, there is always tommorow.
So there you have it... First day of Kindergarten and 4th grade... I must say I love the school time routine we get into and I'm looking forward to Lilly starting. No teary eyes for this mom.
