And here is Abby's Band Field show performance. It's harder to pick out her white blob, b/c she blends in with all the other white blobs. HOwever, look right under the Drum Major's left elbow as she is conducting and that is where Abby stood

Band Geek ~in training~

Tonight the Middle & Jr High Bands were invited to a parent appreciation night.

THe marching band did it's final performance and the the 5-8th grades got to go on the field and play with the high school band.



They were 500+ kids on the field playing. It was awesome. Our district has such a great music program. It was so cool to have the little ones see what it's like to perform in front of a stadium full of fans!

This face below is priceless. She is totally embarassed that her dad is coming by with the camera and it shows. And here is another reason I love this band.

See all the chaos? All the people at the sidelines AND ON THE FIELD? After it wall all said and done, the director announced that the marching band was doing one final performance and at your own risk you could come on the field and take pictures. HOW COOL IS THAT? Of course you had to be wary of the flags not hitting you and when the drumline made their b-line for their solo- but really, I've never heard of that before and I think it was just plain awesome. :)


So, I have the performance on the flip. I have yet to download all the videos on there and so when I do I'll upload this and Caleb's concert video as well. :)

Weekend Fun. :)

It was quite a long weekend. Everything started with Caleb's concert on Friday.

The boy was so cute. He loves to sing. One day this week, I'll put up his favorite song they sang so you can hear. I just don't have time to upload it at the moment.

Saturday we went to Dorney (see my previous post)

And on Sunday- we had Mally's birthday party to go to. Can't believe Mal-Dude is 9 already!!

So- we had plans to work on the retaining wall on Monday. However- home depot's delivery is backed up and we did not get our cinder block delivery in time.

Then We attempted to help Lilly ride without training wheels. That didn't go over so well. Apparently the princess no longer thinks that she should learn & when the princess doesn't want to do something, well... she doesn't & goes to the extreme- looking for a trash can to put the bike it. Can we say Drama??

Anyway, we took our two failed attempts as a sign that we should just relax and take it easy. The kids found friends to play with and Jim and I watched some movies that we hadn't had been hangning around waiting for us to have some free time.




I'm a big History buff and so these movies were right up my alley. :) I've read books on Elizabeth before, and she is probably one of my favorite English Monarch ever. The movies did not disappoint.

Goodbye Coasters, Hello Old age

So every time we pass the rollar coasters , the two of them pictured above are drooling. They are coaster freaks and when we told them this would be a good weekend for a park visit- they were ecstatic.

We got there before the park opened, and man, it has been about 10 years since I was there last It's a completly different place. Almost everything has changed.

In the hour in a half after opening- we road 4 rollar coaster (one of them twice, b/c Caleb was not quite big enough to ride yet and we had to take turns) + the antique cars+ the scrambler. There was no waiting in lines. It was walk on- walk off.

Then we ate our picnic lunch and we went back in for more.

But it was this point in the day whereI could no longer kid myself. I can't ride like I used to. Two of the morning coasters really put my motion sickness into motion. It seems coasters that go up and down- out and back are fine. But when they start twisting and turning- it makes my brain mush, it hurt and as Jim told me- I looked as if I was going to fall over any minute. And since all the fun new coasters are flipping and flopping- well- It was not a fun realization.

Since I can't ride most round and round rides for the same reason- I spent a lot of time sitting and watching everyone have fun & Wishing I could still participate. I may or may not have started crying in the middle of the park when it all hit me. I love thrill rides. I'm not ready to say goodbye just yet- and that is sad.

But we made up for it. We rode steel force 3 times and that is my favorite all time coaster- not just because of all the big drops, or the fact that it is a long ride- It didn't make me sick Wooo-hoooo!

So, I'm not the fastest person in the world.

We had a computer crash on the brand new computer in the begining of March. We had to re-boot everything. It was not fun.

And just this week (yes two months later) I finally installed the printer and the Silhouette back onto the computer so we can actually print and cut again.

So here you have it. I'm a cutting fool again. Here's the two layouts I did with machine.


So this one all the words, the scalloped frame, and that cool looking star were all cut from the cutter

This one looks like it has a bunch of button on it. But, no. No buttons. It's cut out of carstock on my cutter. :) I also cut the title too.

I think this one is one of my all time favorite layouts every. :)

And there you have it. Otherwise, not much else is going on- except for my manic cleaning. And let's face it. Cleaning is boring.

Where's Finn????

He's in there. He loves to sleep in the laundry basket. This time it had some webkins in it and he just made himself comfortable. Silly Kitty.

The greatest yard sale find. Ever.

Yup.

I am so stoked.

There is nothing like hearing the wind whip the flag around.

But when your little girl watchs you and decides on the spot that she wants to carry the pretty flags just like her mom did is pretty close.

Ok, Maybe that should be Look out Kindy, here comes Miss Attitude, or here comes The Drama Queen, or here comes The Princess of Princesses.



(and in case you are wondering, yes- that is the feather boa she Had to have to wear- just to make sure everyone knows of her princess-ness.

I'm telling you- after Caleb's *ahem* memorable *ahem* Kindergarten year, I bet all involved saw our Lilly's Name on the list and thought to themselves "oh no, not another one" And then sighed because they remember all to well her brothers indecrections.

So it's official. She has been registered. She has been observed and now we wait. They must determine if she will be in half day or all day and we are keeping our fingers crosssed she goes all day so I can go back to work!

Abby's Spring Concert- Pictures & A video

Tonight was the 5th grade Choral/Band concert.


Abby plays the Clarinet in the concert band. She is the small one in the picture above. It was hard to get her picture as she was pretty far in and even with the telephoto lens on the camera I couldn't get a good shot. :)
Abby looked petrified during the choral concert. She wouldn't smile because she thought the songs were dumb and it was embarassing. But Like my mom whispered to me, at least she wasn't in the group that had to do the dancing on the riesers. So we are thankful for that.
This was the first time we had a real opportunity to use the telephotolens. We were about 6 rows back and so it was nice to be able to take some close up shots.
She had first row first chair so I was happy I could snap some pictures of her actually playing. :)

Poor kid. the chello is as big as she is! :)

And, now, the moment you have all been waiting for. I won't post all the flips that we took- just the song that moved me the most. The kids have really improved since they played last at the Christmas Concert and I think this song was the best out of all of the ones they did. :) (email people will have to visit the site to see the video)

See the pretty flowers I made for my mommy. :) Aren't they adorable? It's hard to see them in this picture- so here is a closer shot of what they look like:


I used a kit and covered it with Yummy Black and white paper. All the flowers were hand cut and I loved how they came out. :)

Another one bites the dust...

So, here's the thing.

It's been a rough day.

Not only did I have to end up grocery shopping in the rain- I came home thisty and as I pulled out a glass from the cabinet- it hit the side and shattered into a million and a half pieces. Little shards of glass went flying. Into my lunch, Into the dog and cat bowls, all over the floor and one just happened to hit my leg and slice it open.

It wasn't any normal glass. It was the very last care bear glass.



Do you remember these glasses? they are from the 80's and you could only get them at pizza hut. I remember sitting at the pizza hut in DuBois begging for those glasses. Whether we got them or not, I don't remember. But I do remember wanting them in the worst way.

So you can imagine my surprise when we were yard selling one day a few years ago and we happened to come across 2 of the 4 glasses. Grumpy bear and Funshine bear.

Technically, I bought them for Lilly who was at the time- right smack in the middle of the care bear revival. (at least that was what I told Jim) It was a steal. $.25 a piece.

Sunshine bear didn't last very long. However, grumpy stuck around for quite awhile. He always made me smile.

*Sigh*

Rest in pieces grumpy bear. Rest in pieces.

More boy scout fun

So this weekend was the blue and gold banquet for the the cub scouts.

It was a lot of fun. There was pizza and wings- and then the boys showed the things that they did over the course of the year.

The Pledge- the Salute- the promise & all the fun arts and crafts. The boys were not shy at all and went on and on and on- cracking all the parents up with how cute they were.

Way to go Caleb!!!

I was going through the Flip to make the boy scout public service announcement and I find this on the camera.
So I had the camera out on the desk. Did he think I wouldn't find out? Did he think he could get away with it? Well, after a good laugh- he did. It's a good thing he's so cute. Email people will have click the site link to see it. :)
